KITCHENER
RANGERS

Here you will find a collection of my best-written feature stories, game previews, game recaps, and OHL Draft coverage from my Communications and Public Relations Intern role with the Kitchener Rangers.
As part of this process, I conducted in-depth interviews with each player listed below, asking thoughtful questions about their lives both on and off the ice. Through extensive research and preparation, I crafted each piece to authentically share their journey with the organization's fans. These stories not only highlight their hockey aspirations but also provide a deeper look into the people behind the game, offering a meaningful platform to showcase their backstories.

"Whether it’s preseason, training camp, or playoffs, it doesn’t matter, it’s all the same sport. The net isn’t any bigger, the puck isn’t any smaller."
Feature Story: #4 Hunter Brzustewicz
“We are both super competitive people but at the end of the day we are tightly knit and we like to joke around with one another often. The rivalry between the teams is always fun, but add my brother to that mix and it will bring the best out of me.”
Feature Story: #59 Mitchell Martin
“I am going to contribute in every way possible and play hard in all three zones. I want to push myself to score goals, make big hits, and be a leader for us.”
Feature Story: #16 Carson Rehkopf
“It’s a dream come true. It’s all I’ve ever known, it’s all I’ve ever played, it’s what I breathe.”

“I’m extremely excited I had the opportunity to come back to Kitchener. We have a really good team this year. The atmosphere at the Aud has been electric on and off the ice, so we want to just keep it going.”

“I want to thrive in my role and I’ve learned what it takes to become a leader in this organization. Being surrounded by such great people, it’s made me a better person and player. Anything else I can do that can elevate this team to the next level, I’m willing to do.”
Feature Story: #57 Trent Swick
“I remember being at school and watching the clock tick throughout the day because I was so eager to go home and lace up my skates. Even if there was a tournament on the weekend I used to have trouble falling asleep Thursday nights because I was so excited to go out and play.”
Feature Story: #7 Blair Scott
“I remember coming to the games all the time and looking up to these guys growing up. I always wanted to be a Ranger. Even playing for the Jr. Rangers as a kid, it’s cool to now be playing for the big boys.”
Feature Story: #23 Kyle Morey
“Life is full of ups and downs, it’s what you make of it that sets you apart.”
Feature Story: #10 Adrian Misaljevic
“The organization and the fans are phenomenal, first-class. The development for players is second to none and it has made the transition really smooth.”
Feature Story: #37 Tanner Lam
“I want to be the player who is depended on to make plays, score the big goals, and be there for my team. As a younger guy, I am trying to contribute in the offensive zone to help my teammates score and get them on the scoreboard. My time will come to evolve into a legitimate goal-scorer.”
Feature Story: #44 Antonino Pugliese
“I’ve gone through a lot of adversity in my life. Adversity is nothing new to me. I’ve had surgeries, two in the last year to be exact, but I haven’t allowed that to hold me back. I know where I come from, I was never given anything in life without working hard for it.”

Whether it is advice from coaches and teammates or just helping to gel with the room, they have all welcomed me with open arms. It’s been awesome.”
